Volunteers welcome!  Especially if you're interested in helping us organize the 2022 Christmas Project.

In 2021, the Christmas Project supported more than 800 families, including 1,463 children under 18 years old, with food and gifts.  We also reached out to seniors and those living in our local temporary shelters to provide food cards.

Volunteer Your Time

We distributed all gift cards in person this year. Volunteers helped with traffic control, checking in clients, matching clients to gift "envelopes," and more.

Tree of Joy

The Tree of Joy provides new gifts for seniors and kids in need (in foster care) around the county.  We welcome business partners and individuals.

In 2021, our business partners included InSitu, Providence Memorial, Copper West,  Nunnamaker Real Estate,  Directors Mortgage, Cascade Acupuncture.  We also had a number of individuals who helped bring joy to a senior or child.

Participants receive a "gift wish" from a senior or child and then go shopping.  Gifts are placed into a festive gift bag and delivered to the organizations we support.  (Photo:  Lynne Pendleton (l) and Rachel Beeson (DHS - right) with gifts for kids served by Department of Human Services, Hood River.

For 2022:   Please watch here or on Facebook to learn our plans. We would also appreciate it if you consider making a donation to the Christmas Project by check (PO Box 872, Hood River OR 97031) or by using the donate link on our site.    Many thanks!
