Become a 2023 volunteer!

Volunteers welcome!

Especially if you're interested in helping us organize the 2023 Christmas Project.

In 2022, the Christmas Project supported more than 800 families, including 1,678 children under 18 years old, with food and gifts.  We also helped seniors and those living in our local temporary shelters with food assistance.

Volunteer Your Time

In 2022 we returned to distributing food boxes, gift cards, and children's toys at the Fairgrounds.  Plans are underway for 2023 ... we need help early for our 100th year of service!

Tree of Joy

The Tree of Joy provides new gifts for seniors and kids in need (in foster care) around the county.  We welcome business partners and individuals.

In 2022, our business partners included InSitu, Providence Memorial, Copper West,  Alpine Veterinary Hospital, Nunnamaker Real Estate,  Directors Mortgage, Cascade Acupuncture, and Hood River Valley High School.  We also had several individuals who helped bring joy to a senior or child.

Participants receive a "gift wish" from a senior or child and then go shopping.  Gifts are placed into a festive gift bag and delivered to the organizations we support.  (Photo:  1) Leah Febbraio (L) and Melanie (Cascade Acupuncture) with gifts ready to go.  Photo 2: Lynne Pendleton (l) and Rachel Beeson (DHS - right) with gifts for kids served by the Department of Human Services, Hood River.

For 2023:   Please watch here or on Facebook to learn our plans. We would also appreciate it if you consider making a donation to the Christmas Project by check (PO Box 872, Hood River OR 97031) or by using the donate link on our site.    Many thanks!
