Food Aid

In 2020, we will make some changes due to Covid-19.  The "gift basket" will be a food gift card that you can use to shop for groceries for your family. Families with children will also  receive gift cards appropriate for the ages of the children in the household.

Gift cards will be availble for Cascade Locks Market, Mercado Guadalajara, Rosauers, and Safeway.  You can select the market that is best for you and your family during registration.

Gifts for Kids

If you have children who are 18 or younger, we'll help by providing gift cards that you can use for shopping or from local businesses.  Both Amazon and Walmart cards are offered during the registration process.

Who We Are

Our Roots

In 1923, volunteers from the Hood River Elks Lodge joined together to provide toys and food to local families in need.  A tradition began and continues through to today.

The Hood River County Christmas Project is dedicated to providing age-appropriate gifts and food to families in need in Hood River County during the Christmas holiday.  More than 300 volunteers in 2019 helped put together baskets.  Blue barrels throughout town and at local businesses take in donations.
